I’ve lived all over the world and I’ve never run into worse drivers which is reflected in the audio insurance rates. The insurance company BELIEVED him and I had to go to court so I could prove it was him! Thank God for witnesses! But seriously?? So I snapped up this cam when I saw it and installed it immediately! It was easy to install, even for me and I’m not great with tech stuff. It comes with a very long cable so you can wire it into the car and keep all the cumbersome and unsightly wires out of the way.
The software is also quite good. It is intuitive and easy to use. It beeps to let you know when it’s recording so if you slam on your brakes or hit a bump too hard, and you hear a beep, you can know recording has started and rest assured that you always have a witness. There are a lot of options in the app and everything is marked in minute intervals you can find what you need easily. You can log in and watch if there is Anyone around your vehicle whenever you want to. If someone hits your car in the parking lot, it automatically begins to record so you can even catch someone who just put a dent in your door and decided to drive away.
There are additions you can purchase that upgrade the cameras possibilities, such as a rear-view Canberra and a GPS. I am just learning all it can do, but so far I am extremely thrilled with this dash cam and I HIGHLY and wholeheartedly recommend this product! It’s great!!

I’m not going to take a star for any complaint because my issue isn’t really a major negative. I have been using this camera for a few months now and I have been pleased. It was easy to install and it offered a few upgrades for location and always on options. Most of the time I can just ignore it because I know it’s working…. there is my chief complaint. It is a little too sensitive. It give a small audible alert when it is triggered and mine is going off on the regular. Hit a small bump in the road, cross railroad tracks, turn onto a main road and accelerate just a little too hard…. all trigger an alert. If I turn on my windshield wipers it sets itoff. Its not loud or really intrusive but I do wish it were a little less sensative.

I said this because I got into car accident recently and realized how important it is to have this.
As a device, I will review from the following 3 aspects– installation, design and user interface.
1. installation: Installation is really straightforward. You just need to put them together and plug it into your car. Because it is really small, it is light weight and can stick to your window really well. If you want, you can do the fancy one and hide the wires since it comes with long wire…. I did not do that since I think what I have is enough.
2. design: I like the size– small so won’t block your view. You forgot its existence sometimes. It is beautiful too.
3. user interface. I like the options it provides– bluetooth etc. also the menu is straightforward and easy to set up. Someone complains it is a bit sensitive- but that is what I prefer. Prefer to be safe than be annoyed. What makes it differnt with the previous ones I have is that– it can connect with my phone and download the video quickly.. I don’t need to plug the disc to computer and do all the time consuming ones.

I do have videos that I can not download or play– hope that can be fixed in the future.

ZERO star customer service. I’ve been emailing them back and forth for a week asking how the date and time can be set. Each time they answer me with how to set the time zone. I write back and explain the zone is set correctly but the datestamp is off by several months and again they reply with instructions to set the time zone. They either don’t understand or don’t care.The dash cam itself is excellent 5 stars. Well-built very good picture quality strong adhesive customizable. It’s a shame that customer support is unable to tell me how to set the date and time.

I purchased mine from the Thinkware site, not Amazon. But I looked at reviews, even here on Amazon. I found that installation to be simple. The Thinkware customer service was great in explaining and answering questions. The 1 star reviews are really misleading. Mine beeps when I hit a bump in the road. the sensor is set to detect accidents. Obvious, not accident. But the beeping is not that often, especially if your on good roads. If you’re driving dirt roads, maybe not for you! The app is actually pretty simple too. One review was incorrect in that you have to turn on the device “wifi” to actually view video, so it cannot get hijacked! And the wifi remains off automatically. But the device records automatically each time your car start. All I wanted was something simple to start. I had been putting this off for a few years. I learned from a friend about this one, and so I made the leap and got it. And so far I am happy with it!

We installed this in a work van after our insurance company assured us of a discount if we had a dash cam.
The basic install was easy enough, however, the package is not complete.. You have to purchase the hard wire kit and the GPS add on separately. At least the hardwire kit should come with it. Several features are not available without that hardwire kit. I would also suggest ordering a larger sd card. It comes with a 32 GB card but video can fill that up pretty quickly. The night vision is okay,…. actually pretty decent for this price range. THere’s no suction cup mounting, which might be a good thing. The included mounting tape is super sticky and takes up much less space on the windshield .. so it doesn’t block your view of the road… or in most cases… the view of stop lights. For a sub $100 dash cam, it does a good job… I just wish it came with the proper power cables.

Decent dashcam for a car
I bought this to apply on my 20 year old camry.
Cars with that age need this kind of stuff and it is like the fire extugisher at home– you rarely use them but you do need one.
I said this because I got into car accident recently and realized how important it is to have this.
As a device, I will review from the following 3 aspects– installation, design and user interface.
1. installation: Installation is really straightforward. You just need to put them together and plug it into your car. Because it is really small, it is light weight and can stick to your window really well. If you want, you can do the fancy one and hide the wires since it comes with long wire…. I did not do that since I think what I have is enough.
2. design: I like the size– small so won’t block your view. You forgot its existence sometimes. It is beautiful too.
3. user interface. I like the options it provides– bluetooth etc. also the menu is straightforward and easy to set up. Someone complains it is a bit sensitive- but that is what I prefer. Prefer to be safe than be annoyed. What makes it differnt with the previous ones I have is that– it can connect with my phone and download the video quickly.. I don’t need to plug the disc to computer and do all the time consuming ones.
some points:
there might be some glitches, just restart or update the software.
I do have videos that I can not download or play– hope that can be fixed in the future.

I like it! Decent camera.
Installation took about a half hour all told (including figuring out how to route the power cord). I used some zip ties instead of what came with it and tucked the cord into the trim. The video quality looks good both day and night and is recorded in 1-minute increments. I reluctantly downloaded the app so I could change the settings on the camera. I liked that I had the ability to change the sensitivity because the default setting on the collision detection was really touchy–so the indicator light was flashing as if I’d been in a crash for every pothole and bump in the road. You can view the footage via the app, or just pop out the SD card and stick it in your computer, which is my preference when needed. I appreciated being able to turn off the voice of the lady telling me it was recording. There is a little green light there that tells you it’s on and recording so the auditory announcement was unnecessary for me. I’m really pleased with this dashcam and glad I finally got one.

Good value.
Surprised at how well this works with so little effort. Quite easy to install and lots of extra cords so that I could wrap it through a pillar and hide the wires. Works intuitively and I really like that I can check on what is being recorded using a phone. It’s small and fixes permanently to the windshield behind the mirror so it doesn’t obstruct my view at all. I really like that. It doesn’t have a bright screen that shines in my eyes. It simply collects video and does a good job.

To be honest, it was a very reliable device as it can see pretty clearly into the night but it also keeps me safe as the features on the device beep every time there is a jerk to the car as an emergency film save, it is always filming but it saves files that are considered a risk to your safety. Check it out for your self.

Great dash cam for this price point! No problems with build/video quality or installation, and it tucks well behind your standard rearview mirror. Video quality is more than sufficient— my only quip with this product is it’s a bit difficult to find footage once you need it. Be prepared to remember the time at which the instance you want footage of occurred, or sift through tons of footage. Other than that, great product!
