What are Parking Modes?

Smart Parking Mode

Unlike conventional dash cams that may stop recording in high cabin temperatures, Smart Parking Mode automatically switches to Energy Saving Mode to continue impact recording. Once temperatures return to a safe operating range, the Dash Cam seamlessly resumes the previously selected Time Lapse or Motion Detection mode.

Radar Parking Mode

Radar Parking Mode uses low-power front and rear radars to monitor motion, ensuring extended parking surveillance with minimal power consumption.

When the radar detects movement in the selected range, the dash cam “wakes up” from a low-power state and records a 20-second video clip.

Dash Cams Compatible with Radar Parking Mode

Motion & Impact Detection

Monitors and captures any motion around the vehicle for potential vandalism attempts or motion near the vehicle. Monitor any impact to the vehicle while it is parked to catch anything from a hit-and-run driver in the act or someone near your vehicle.

Time Lapse

Instead of waiting for an event, Time Lapse Parking Mode continuously records, but  at about 1–2 frames per second instead of normal video enabling the dash cam to record long periods of parking surveillance continuously without increasing power consumption on your vehicle.

Energy Saving Mode

Energy Saving Mode allows the dash cam to go on standby when entering Parking Surveillance mode and wakes up to record events triggered by impacts only. This allows the dash cam to conserve energy and increase up to 3 times the total duration of the dash cam’s Parking Surveillance mode for longer coverage.

Radar Module

Extend your dash cams parking surveillance duration while reducing power consumption when set to Energy Saving Mode 2.0. with THINKWARE’S Radar Module

If an impact is detected, a 20-second video (10 seconds before and 10 seconds after the impact) is saved in a dedicated folder on the MicroSD card.
