4K Front & 2K Rear
Powered by Sony’s STARVIS 2 image sensors – IMX678 up front and IMX675 in the rear – the ARC 900 delivers high-resolution video that captures fine detail with precision. From wide-open highways to complex cityscapes, every frame is sharp, balanced and built for clarity

Incredible value and great video quality. Have realistic expectations.
It’s great. Most expensive dashcams aren’t worth it. But this one kind of is.
The best lens system currently is the Starvis 2 system and no others come close. But even with this, due to headlight reflections and such license plates are still hard to see if at all at night. Especially in motion. This is the reality of the currenttechnology. But this is one of the best video qualities you will find. Similar to others of this pricepoint or higher.
Pros:
1. Large LED touchscreen that’s so responsive and let’s you navigate all menus and watch videos with a simple touch. It doesn’t get easier to use than this.
2. Menus are simple, relatively, and easy to navigate. Even if you aren’t technical.
3. Comes with the 12v, hardwire kit and a microSD included. Every you need. No other dashcam I have found includes all of this. This is easily another $50 CDN extra you would have to pay for the competing brands. And it’s priced the same as the others.
4. Parking mode works great, has settings for battery safety shut off, impact only and with motion detection. It also wonderfully tells you if it detected and recorded anything while parked as soon as you start the car. So you never have to guess or do walkarounds before you drive.
5. Road safety features and alerts. Will tell you if traffic lights change, or the car in front of you moves. Will also alert you of red light cameras and speed cameras. To be 100% clear, I haven’t tested these features much, since all speed cameras are now banned here. So i will update when I get more testing in.
6. Built in bluetooth/wifi. Download the app and connects easily with qr code and transfer files super fast. Incredibly easy.
7. Solid build and so easy to setup. Plus it’s nice to be told “have a safe drive today” before heading out.
8. Has a quick slide which makes it detachable in case you want to hide it when not in use, but obviously that means no parking mode if you hardwired it.
Cons: (mostly nitpicking)
1. It’s large. So if you’re hoping for some stealthy hidden camera, this isn’t it.
2. I wish you could delete selected videos from the unit. But you can only format the whole card. This is common for all dashcams. But was hoping the touch screen would provide that functionality.
3. The side buttons next to the screen aren’t backlit. This means the menu, record and record audio buttons are hard to see in the dark since they are touch and have no tactile feel. I rarely need to use them. But it would be nice to have some backlit if I needed them.
4. I wish some of the menu options were split. For example, the speed and redlight camera alerts are one option. Also not clearly identified. I only needed the red light one, but couldn’t find it and only saw road safety alerts on/off. Turns out its part of that.
5. I wish it had a lens filter and static sheets included. But that’s kind of asking for too much when it’s already incredible value.
Final thoughts. Updates to come after further testing.
It’s incredible value and an incredible dashcam. One of the best. The screen, the video quality, ease of use, features and included wiring options are all top tier. If you are considering a high quality front and back camera that gives you everything you need in a single package. This is it. I 100% recommend this and to be honest, this isn’t my preferred brand. But credit where credit is due. My preferred brand’s top device doesn’t offer as much as this does for the same pricepoint. Well done Thinkware. Well done.
