    I am happy with my X1000. It starts quickly and the images are great. The installation with the Thinkware OBD II cable was easy. For me this unit was the right balance of performance without the linking to my cell phone. This is my first dash cam. I mounted my rear camera incorrectly and the Thinkware customer service was great. They are sending me some more tape so I can remount it correctly. I really like the Thinkware products and would recommend them to anyone.

    My email from thinkware told me my existing cable for my X550 would not fit my X1000 so I paid Best Buy to install it and the existing cables connected right to the X1000. A $60 installation charge that was unnecessary and only took minutes to just change the mount and rear camera. They gave me a 40% discount which I had problems getting because they said I didn’t include my discount code in the purchase which I did. I included it in the comments. I do like the functionality and resolution of the X1000 but seems built cheaper than the X550 which lasted about 4yrs in extreme heat. I guess most my gripe is mainly about the support trying to be more of a salesman instead of helping. Thanks, Dan

    I have both the U1000 and now the X1000 in my same vehicle. I like the X1000 much better because I can see the screen as I’m driving, however, I use the U1000 to keep an eye on my vehicle when I’m away because it activates my phone if something happens. I wish the X1000 did the same thing. But I still believe it deserves 5 stars. By the way, these 2 cameras are mounted in my 18 wheeler. I also have the U1000 in my personal vehicle and will be purchasing the X1000 for it also. Good job Thinkware for these cameras. Let me know when the next big and more updated dash cams come out.

    So far I like it. I love that it has a rear facing cam. The touchscreen is nice. I bought it to install in my brand new SUV. Installation was a breeze. I have it hard wired into the fuse box and connected to the external battery for parking mode. I also have the X330 in my other two cars.

    It’s a nice camera for the price range. Both front & rear have exceptional night time images.

    the front camera mount would be nice if you could adjust left to right so it would sit level on a modern curved windshield. The mount only has up and down adjustment. Other than that very pleased with it

    This dash camera is amazing. The video quality is the best I’ve seen in a dash camera. I also really love that the kit comes standard with the hardwire cable because I hate having a wire hanging down to plug into the +12v accessory outlet.

    The only issue I have is because I have a large sound system in my car so every time the bass hits, the camera goes into incident record mode even at the lowest sensitivity setting. I still rated the camera five stars because that’s my fault, not Thinkware’s.

    We had explored different dash cams and decided to give X1000 bundle a try. The dash cam was small and came with the rear camera. We also purchased the OBD which worked perfectly for me to install. The recording pictures was clear and the Parking surveillance mode recorded the pictures at night and stored it in the SD card. I noticed that there was a beep warning when your car hit a pothole. It had FCWS function on this dash cam. The only thing is it did not come with the pry tool.

    I have decided to purchase a second one for my other car. Can’t wait to receive it and will give review again.

    I have had the X1000 for a couple of weeks and seems ok. Not impressed with tech support though. I installed rear camera as shown on page 18 in the online manual and the video for rear is upside down. Called support (case 50180) and asked her if rear camera was defective and she said to email picture of camera, two weeks later and no answer. I installed it upside down to get it to work. Also not happy with expensive memory upgrade that you have to get through Thinkware or it will not work. Picture included here in the position shown makes video upside down.

    Been using the X1000 front and rear cameras for a few weeks. Very pleased with the video quality and ease of downloading onto computer for viewing. As a senior citizen (70+) it was easy to start using after the professional hardwired installation. The few questions I had Thinkware customer service answered very quickly for me via email and chat. My car already has driver assist features so I am not using those features that come with this camera. I wanted the video quality to be super in detail sharpness lighting etc. so I could see as much detail as possible. This camera delivers on those needs. Love the parking recording feature. Liked it so much that I just ordered another camera for our second car.

    On 1/11/2023 I purchased X1000 Front + Rear Dash Cam Bundle along with an iVolt External battery and a 12V charging cable. Thinkware initially delivered a defective 12V charging cable which caused a fuse to blow due to overload. I had to bring my vehicle to the delership and replaced the fuse. After multiple phone call attempts and email regarding a defective 12V charging cable on 2/4/2023 Thinkware finally sent me another 12V charging cable but it was the wrong cable because the male end of the cable does not fit in.Between 2/4/2023 and 2/16/2023 I attempted to call Thinkware’s support center multiple times during their operation hours (as indicated on Thinkware’s webiste) but I kept hearing an automatic voice message saying no support agents were available. I also emailed them multiple times but all were ignored. Today (2/16/2023) I went to the Thinkware website to write a review of my unpleasant experience with them and realized that the 12V charging cable that I originally purchased on 1/11/2023 is out of stock. Ultimately I spent over $500 for Thinkware dash cam over a month ago but I still have not been able to use it due to their defective charging cable. Thinkware seems not to care about my issue. Also Thinkware advised that I can’t return the products because the initial purchase date was well outside of the return period. I wasted $500 for a dash cam that would not be able to use.

    The camera works great but I have to say it was rather complicated to run all the wires. I wouldn’t have been able to do it but my husband is a mechanic and knows how to easily remove molding, etc. to hide the wires. We are still looking for a dash cam that records behind the vehicle for our pickup truck which has a topper and the rear glass as well as the glass on the topper is tinted. Any suggestions would be welcome!

    I had two x550s for my daughter’s vehicles. They’ve paid for themselves in capturing accident that we were not at fault for. Both times others tried to tell half-truths, but video don’t lie.

    I’ve tried BlacVue.. and it just doesn’t work.

    I have these two now to replace my x550s (these new x1000s), as well as a u3000 and they are are solid and flawless.

    We get -60 in the winter, and it’s not uncommon to have 108 in the summer. And these are solid through it all.

    I’d recommend getting an OBD cable to hardwire so you can use parking mode too.

    These pay for themselves in the cost of your auto deductible when you’re not at fault. Well worth it…. also if you see anything cool on the road… these capture it :).
