PARKING SURVEILLANCE MODE
Parking Surveillance mode* is automatically activated when you turn off the ignition, and captures footage when a motion or impact is detected so you have video evidence of mishaps like hit-and-runs while you’re away from your vehicle.
*Requires Hardwiring Cable or OBD II Power Cable and installation for Parking Surveillance mode (professional installation recommended)
ENERGY SAVING MODE
In Energy Saving mode, the dash cam goes on standby when entering Parking Surveillance mode and wakes up to record events triggered by impacts only.
This allows the dash cam to conserve energy and increase up to 3 times the total duration of the dash cam’s Parking Surveillance mode.
TIME LAPSE
Time Lapse in Parking mode records footage at 2FPS, enabling the dash cam to record long periods of parking surveillance continuously without increasing power consumption.
SUPER NIGHT VISION ON PARKING MODE
(Parking Surveillance Mode* only)
Record properly calibrated and exposed images in low-light conditions with the Sony STARVIS CMOS sensor.
ACCESSORIES FOR INSTALLATION
DO I NEED TO USE A DASH CAM BATTERY PACK?
Thinkware Dash Cams offer a few different methods in which the device is powered.
RADAR MODULE
Pair the Radar Module with the U1000, Q1000, or X1000 to extend its parking surveillance duration while reducing power consumption when set to Energy Saving Mode 2.0.
The Radar will detect motion and allow the dash cam to prepare to save an event clip. If an impact is detected, a 20 second video (10 seconds before and 10 seconds after the impact) is saved in a dedicated folder on the MicroSD card.
When no impacts are detected, the U1000, Q1000, or X1000 does not save the footage and resumes Energy Saving Mode 2.0.
*Radar for Parking is available on U3000 (Built-in).
HOW DOES THE RADAR MODULE WORK?
By using Lidar the RADAR Module will detect a sedan or larger sized object moving near your parked vehicle and will begin recording.
If no impact is detected then the video clip will be deleted. If an impact is detected, the video is saved with 10 seconds of footage before the impact and 10 seconds after (20-second clip).
HOW TO DISABLE/ENABLE THE RADAR MODULE
***Requires RADAR Module Accessory (sold separately) and the Energy Savings Mode to be ON (Parking Mode)

* Radar motion detection requires optional Radar Module, and is only enabled in Energy Saving Mode 2.0.
* Not every object is guaranteed to be detected.
* Metal objects may cause the radar to not detect motion properly. Install Radar Module as far away as possible from metal parts of the rearview mirror/ADAS sensors.
ENERGY SAVING PARKING MODE 2.0
The dash cam is on standby until an impact is detected. When an impact is detected, the dash cam wakes up to record a 20 second video.
ENERGY SAVING PARKING MODE 2.0 WITH RADAR MODULE
The dash cam is on standby until a movement is detected. When the Radar Module detects a movement, the dash cam wakes up and gets ready to record to prepare to save an event clip. If an impact is detected, a 20 second video (10 seconds before and 10 seconds after the impact) is saved.
