Vision 3.0
with Sony STARVIS

Ideal for late-night drives, the Q1000 comes equipped with a premium Sony STARVIS image sensor and Thinkware’s latest Super Night Vision 3.0 technology to enhance video brightness in low light conditions so you don’t miss important details.

ADAS & Safety Camera Alert

ADAS & Safety
Camera Alert

Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) helps you stay safe on the road with alerts for lane departures, front vehicle departures, and potential forward collisions. The built-in GPS antenna tracks the speed, time, and route history of your vehicle, and enables the dash cam to alert you of upcoming red light cameras and speed cameras too.

Parking Surveillance Mode

With hardwiring installation, enjoy parking protection against potential mishaps and hit-and-runs by capturing footage when an impact or motion is detected (hardwiring cable or OBD-II cable required). You can tailor the Q1000’s Parking Surveillance mode to the coverage that best fits your surveillance needs by choosing from Impact/Motion Detection, Time Lapse, or Energy Saving parking modes.

You can tailor the Q1000’s Parking Surveillance mode to the coverage that best fits your surveillance needs by choosing from Impact/Motion Detection, Time Lapse, or Energy Saving parking modes.

Smart Parking Mode

Smart Parking Mode feature prevents heat-related damage by automatically switching the Q1000 to a low-power mode if the temperature inside the vehicle gets too high during Parking Surveillance. In this state, the dash cam records incidents triggered by impacts only until its operating temperature is safe again to resume Motion Detection or Timelapse Parking mode.

Impact and Motion Detection

With Impact and Motion Detection turned on, any potential vandalism attempts and hit-and-run drivers while the car is parked will be caught in the act. In Parking mode, Impact detection captures any impact to the vehicle while Motion Detection captures any movement around the vehicle.

Time Lapse

Time Lapse in Parking mode records footage at 2fps, enabling the dash cam to continuously record long periods of parking surveillance without increasing power consumption.

Energy Saving 2.0

Energy Saving 2.0 in Parking Surveillance mode records footage triggered by impacts only, allowing the Q1000 to reduce its power consumption and remain in Parking mode for a longer duration.

Patrick

This is my third Thinkware camera, the previous ones being an F800Pro and a Q800Pro. The new camera itself is just as good as the others I've had, but the new iPhone app is much worse. The app I used before was Thinkware Cloud. It always worked the same way, and I never had issues. The new camera doesn't work with Thinkware Cloud, I had to use Dash Cam Link. This app has a really hard time getting connected to the camera. With the old app, I would just connect to the camera's wifi, then start using the app. With the new app, it seems you can't connect to the camera's wifi directly, you have to do it through the app. When you do something in the app that needs connectivity to the camera, it "automatically" connects you to it but it gives you three pop-up prompts every time, which makes it really clunky. Worse than that though, it competes with wireless CarPlay, and CarPlay always wins. The only way the app can connect to the camera is if I disable CarPlay on the phone, or tell the phone to forget the car's bluetooth. Otherwise CarPlay will just keep stealing the wifi back while the app fiddles around with all its prompts. Then if I want to re-enable Carplay afterwards, I need to turn the car off and back on before it will reconnect. With the old app, when I would intentionally connect to the camera's wifi, CarPlay would graciously step out of the way. The new app is a real pain to use. But as long as I don't need to use the app, the camera is fine.
