You can tailor the Q1000’s Parking Surveillance mode to the coverage that best fits your surveillance needs by choosing from Impact/Motion Detection, Time Lapse, or Energy Saving parking modes.
Smart Parking Mode
Smart Parking Mode feature prevents heat-related damage by automatically switching the Q1000 to a low-power mode if the temperature inside the vehicle gets too high during Parking Surveillance. In this state, the dash cam records incidents triggered by impacts only until its operating temperature is safe again to resume Motion Detection or Timelapse Parking mode.
Impact and Motion Detection
With Impact and Motion Detection turned on, any potential vandalism attempts and hit-and-run drivers while the car is parked will be caught in the act. In Parking mode, Impact detection captures any impact to the vehicle while Motion Detection captures any movement around the vehicle.
Time Lapse
Time Lapse in Parking mode records footage at 2fps, enabling the dash cam to continuously record long periods of parking surveillance without increasing power consumption.
Energy Saving 2.0
Energy Saving 2.0 in Parking Surveillance mode records footage triggered by impacts only, allowing the Q1000 to reduce its power consumption and remain in Parking mode for a longer duration.

This is my third Thinkware camera, the previous ones being an F800Pro and a Q800Pro. The new camera itself is just as good as the others I’ve had, but the new iPhone app is much worse. The app I used before was Thinkware Cloud. It always worked the same way, and I never had issues. The new camera doesn’t work with Thinkware Cloud, I had to use Dash Cam Link. This app has a really hard time getting connected to the camera. With the old app, I would just connect to the camera’s wifi, then start using the app. With the new app, it seems you can’t connect to the camera’s wifi directly, you have to do it through the app. When you do something in the app that needs connectivity to the camera, it “automatically” connects you to it but it gives you three pop-up prompts every time, which makes it really clunky. Worse than that though, it competes with wireless CarPlay, and CarPlay always wins. The only way the app can connect to the camera is if I disable CarPlay on the phone, or tell the phone to forget the car’s bluetooth. Otherwise CarPlay will just keep stealing the wifi back while the app fiddles around with all its prompts. Then if I want to re-enable Carplay afterwards, I need to turn the car off and back on before it will reconnect. With the old app, when I would intentionally connect to the camera’s wifi, CarPlay would graciously step out of the way. The new app is a real pain to use. But as long as I don’t need to use the app, the camera is fine.

I think with how unpredictable driving is these days it really gives a sense of security to have a dash cam while driving around even if it’s just around town. This Thinkware dash cam is really nice! I like that it mounts behind the mirror so it doesn’t block the view. The picture is clear and syncs up with the app on your phone very nicely. It’s easy to install I’m very happy with this.

I bought this product over a month age. Love the size and video quality. I got in an accident and was able to prove to the police officer the accident was not my fault. With out this great system I know I would have been blamed. Strongly recommend this product to family and friends.

I recently got this for an added security measure for my insurance and this was very easy to install and connect. It also has a great high quality video. It’s little bulky from a line of sight point of view but for what it is built for it is acceptable. Overall I will recommend this product.

it is super simple to install. .and set up.. the picture quality is great.. and bc it attaches to the back of the mirror it stays out of the way.. and doesnt impair your view while driving. The video quality is outstanding. With a front-facing and rear camera that records in 2K the footage is crystal clear and provides a great level of detail. The wide-angle lenses capture a broad field of view

We’re always looking for a good dashcam for the sake of terrible drivers in our area this one seems to hold up to par. For starters it’s very small and extremely easy to install. You’ve got two options. Can use the port or the cigarette lighter. You don’t have to run any cables to and from in order to install. It also comes with everything you need including the SD cards which is pretty rare to have included in other dashcams. It has all the same typical features as other – cams give or take some. You’ve got the option to enable forward assist lane departure etc. It’s very easy to operate and it doesn’t require a reading the instructions to operate. It’s got big buttons so that way you can press them without wondering if you’re hitting the right button or hitting the wrong button because the buttons are too small and fingers hit both. The video clarity is good but not amazing. So while it’s a very good camera and sensitive to everything you’ll get your general quality camera pixelation. Not saying that’s a bad thing but if you’re looking for super clear this may not be the one. That’s what all the reviews say that is kind of pixelated. I’ll continue to use it for peace of mind while driving because you never know when someone’s going to cause a hit and run or run a red light and you’re the victim. It’s a good insurance backup for proof and being its sensitive to collision and lane departure you shouldn’t have any problem picking up an accident. Overall it’s a good quality camera for a good quality investment.

This was a lifesaver in my car! I have an older vehicle that I use as my daily driver that does not have a camera built in. This one is brilliant and has a front and rear camera that is Bluetooth wifi enabled and has sensors that are a must have for anyone who makes long commutes like me or a new driver. It gives me peace of mind that I will be covered in the case of an accident with the back up storage of the recordings. I love it!
